Currently we are unable to send the necessary reference maps electronically that allow an observer to estimate the limiting magnitude of their sky. As an alternative, we have published the Limiting Magnitude Field Locator and Calculator which has been kindly provided us by Peter Girard.
An alternative is to use the IMO star count maps located at their website. Note that it is advisable to observe meteors only when the limiting magnitude is +5.0 or better.
